Thank you so much for applying to be a Foster Carer - one of the most rewarding roles at Jerry Green Dog Rescue (JGDR). Before we start on this journey together towards finding them permanent and loving homes. Please could you read the information.

I acknowledge that the health and well-being of the rescue dogs are a top priority for JGDR.

The variety of dogs coming to JGDR can make it challenging to predict their type, size, or breed, therefore some dogs may require a home without other animals, the primary goal is to find the best match between the dogs and foster homes.

I am committed to providing a successful fostering experience and understand that not all dogs that come in may be suitable for my home. I am prepared to wait for a house guest that matches my home environment and applications submitted with more considerations might result in a longer wait.

I also understand that the dogs will require human companionship for most of the day, and I am willing to provide that level of care.

Have you ever been or are currently subject to any legal restriction on keeping animals or livestock?

Sometimes through no fault of their own a dog may take a while to settle in and may exhibit some of the following behaviours. Our team will be on hand to support and offer advice to help. Please confirm you are okay with this:

Behaviours could include: Toileting in the house, chewing furniture and personal belongings, play biting/mouthing, withdrawn and timid.

Please offer us constructive feedback on the volunteer application process

By clicking submit your application will be received, providing the details were all completed fully, we will progress this on to the next stage.

Stage two
You will receive an email from the volunteer team on the process of your application.

Stage three
Following on from stage two, we may be asked to either pop into the charity or have further conversations regarding foster caring. We will ask you to bring your references and driving license.

Alternatively, the volunteer team may discuss more suitable roles for your skills, should the initial enquiry not be successful, or role not be available.

At this stage the Volunteer Task Force member may book your home check .

Keep your eye on your emails as we will be sending you some key information regarding your volunteering.

With your consent, throughout your volunteering with Jerry Green we will send updates on the charity, and opportunities you may want to get involved with.

The process may take a few weeks, so please do bear with us.

* The suitability of a role can come in many forms, and as we know you will understand, the health and wellbeing of our dogs is paramount. Please understand that some foster homes may not be suitable, or have other considerations, which means it takes longer to place a dog. This is not a reflection on you or the wonderful home you are able to give, but the needs of our dogs and the specialist care they might need.

Your help in other areas such as fundraising, retail or reception support us to help even more dogs in our care. These are the areas the charity really do need your help and areas which do help so many dogs in need.
