The team were confident that Frederick would be a suitable match for Kev and his home, but they decided to tie in their initial meeting with a home visit to make sure Frederick would take to the boat life.
On arrival at the marina, Frederick confidently greeted Kev and then explored his surroundings. Despite it being a busy area, Frederick coped extremely well, greeting other walkers and even having a little paddle in the river.
When Frederick saw Kev’s boat, he jumped on it without hesitation like it had always been his home. After lots of sniffing and exploring the boat, he lay down and enjoyed a fuss with Kev. Just like the team had pictured, Frederick made himself at home on the deck, watching people and other dogs pass by.
Frederick had two more visits from Kev at the centre to continue growing their bond, but each time the pair met, Frederick knew that Kev was his person. From being found abandoned just two months prior, Frederick had successfully found his forever home.
