About me

Hi, I’m Patrick 👋

I’m a handsome ex-racing Greyhound, now looking for a calm and understanding home where I can enjoy my retirement. Life after racing is all a bit new to me, so I’ll need someone patient who can help me take things at my own pace while I figure out the world.

I do have quite a strong prey drive (it’s in my nature!), which means I can’t live with cats, small dogs, birds, or anything small and fluffy. I might be able to live with another dog my size who has a similar calm temperament, as long as we’re introduced properly here at the centre.

One thing I’d really love is a secure garden with 6ft fencing so I can have a good run around and show off my zoomies – I promise they’re worth watching! My ideal home would have carpets or rugs, as I can be a bit like Bambi on ice and sometimes find laminate or other hard flooring quite slippery. Because I can be a little nervous around busy roads and traffic, I’d feel much more comfortable in a semi-rural home where things are quieter. With a little time, patience, and reassurance, I’ll soon grow in confidence and show what a wonderful companion I can be.

I could live with children aged 11 and over, especially if they understand that I sometimes need a bit of space to relax and feel safe.

I’d be a great match for someone who already knows a bit about Greyhounds, or someone willing to learn about what makes us special. Once I feel settled, I’ve got lots of love to give and I’m really looking forward to finding my forever home 🐾
