Hello, I’m Hilda!

If you’re looking for a little shadow who will happily curl up on your lap, cover you in kisses and remind you every single day just how special rescue dogs are, then I might just be your perfect match.

Life hasn’t always been kind to me, so I’m still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. Everything is a bit new to me at the moment, and even simple things like walking on a lead are something I’m taking one tiny step at a time. Because of this, I’m looking for a patient and understanding family who will let me go at my own pace and celebrate all of my little milestones along the way.

Once I start to trust you, you’ll discover just how loving I really am. I adore being close to my people and will happily snuggle up on your lap whenever you’ll let me. I’m a playful little girl with a sweet, gentle nature, and I have an endless supply of kisses ready for anyone lucky enough to earn my friendship. Watching my confidence grow and seeing my personality blossom will be one of the most rewarding journeys you could ever be part of.

I could potentially live with another calm and confident dog who will be patient with me while we get to know each other. Building friendships takes me a little time, so any introductions would need to be slow and carefully managed. I could also live with caged small animals, provided they are safely out of the way.

Because I’m still learning about the world, I’ll need someone who can gradually build up the amount of time I’m left on my own. I’d much rather spend my days with my family while I settle into home life before practising being left for short periods.

I could live with children aged 11 years and over who understand that I may be a little shy at first and will give me the time and space I need to settle in. Once I’ve learned that you’re my friend, you’ll have a loyal little companion who loves nothing more than cuddles, playtime and showering you with affection.

If you’ve got a kind heart, plenty of patience and room on your lap, I promise I’ll do my very best to become the wonderful companion you’ve been dreaming of. All I need is someone willing to believe in me.
