About me

Hi, I’m Cedar, and I’m a very special young girl looking for someone who will take the time to help me discover just how wonderful life can be. I’m a sensitive soul, and I haven’t had the easiest start, which means lots of the things other dogs might take for granted are still completely new to me. I’m learning about the world around me every day, and I need a patient, understanding family who will let me take things at my own pace.

There’s still lots for me to learn, including walking on a lead and getting used to all the different sights, sounds and experiences that come with everyday life. New places and unfamiliar situations can feel a little overwhelming, so I need someone who understands that I can’t simply be thrown into the big wide world and expected to cope straight away. I need gentle guidance, consistency, positive training and plenty of reassurance while I build my confidence.

I’m the littlest girl of the group, and although I might be small, I have a huge personality waiting to shine through! Being the smallest means I can sometimes need a little extra reassurance and patience, particularly when things feel unfamiliar or overwhelming. I’m looking for an experienced owner who understands sensitive dogs and is prepared to give me the time I need to flourish.

My new family will need to be patient, celebrate my little victories and allow me to grow in confidence naturally rather than rushing me. A busy or chaotic family home wouldn’t be the right fit for me, although I may potentially be able to live with children who understand dogs and can give me the space and patience I need, providing the right match is found.

I may also be able to live with another dog, pending a successful introduction and making sure we are a good match. Having a confident and suitable canine friend could potentially help me feel more comfortable and give me a lovely companion, but this would need to be carefully considered based on both our personalities.

One thing I definitely don’t struggle with is showing my people how much I love them! I’m a super lovable girl and, once I feel safe with you, I really enjoy being close to my favourite people. I can be sensitive and unsure, but underneath that is a gorgeous girl with a huge heart who simply wants to feel safe, understood and loved. Give me the reassurance I need and I’ll give you plenty of affection right back.

I’m also a clever girl, so my brain is going to need plenty to keep it occupied. As my confidence grows, I’d love to learn new things, take part in positive training and enjoy activities that allow me to use my mind. My future family will need to enjoy helping me learn and giving me appropriate mental stimulation, while remembering that everything needs to be introduced at a pace I can cope with.

My leaving hours will also need to be built up gradually. I’m not ready to be expected to cope with long periods on my own, so my new family will need to be around initially and teach me, slowly and kindly, that being left alone is nothing to worry about.

I know I might need a little more patience than some dogs, but I promise you, I am worth it. I’m not looking for someone perfect, just someone who understands that confidence takes time. Someone who will celebrate the little wins, support me when I find something difficult and never expect more from me than I’m ready for.

With the right person, plenty of patience, gentle guidance and lots and lots of love, I have every chance of blossoming into a wonderful companion. I’m a sensitive, affectionate and playful little girl with so much potential, and I’m just waiting for someone to believe in me.

I’m ready to start my next chapter. I might be the littlest girl, but I have so much love and potential to give. All I need now is someone special who is willing to take that journey with me. ❤️
