Firstly, think about who you would like to look after your dog should you no longer be able to. We would suggest having a conversation with this person about your plans, to make them aware and ensure they are happy and able to take responsibility for your dog’s care should it be required. Once you have chosen your preferred keeper for your dog, you can then add this intention into your Will. It is wise to also consider the cost of caring for your dog, and ensuring this person is able to meet those costs should they be needed to, either by their own means, or by also providing a financial gift in your Will to support the care of your dog.
