Hearts throb as soon as they see the gorgeous Springer Spaniel that is Taz, but despite his beauty and affectionate personality, he sadly had to endure a lot of changes in his life and didn’t have the stability dogs need.

When Taz first came to us he didn’t enjoy kennel life at all and would be very vocal. Our teams did their best to comfort him and make him feel safe in the kennel environment. Once relaxed, he soon showed us what a sweet boy he was and how much he loved his toys. He also enjoyed running around our enclosed paddocks and going for walks in woodland areas near our centre. He really was such a lovely boy to be around.

There was however one thing that was holding Taz back from finding his dream home – his behavior around dogs. He was very reactive when near other dogs which made him quite hard to rehome. Taz needed a home who would be able to walk him during quieter times of the day and in areas where he would come into little or no contact with other dogs.

Our teams trained Taz to wear a muzzle so he would be safe when walking, but this still didn’t do much good in finding him a home who would be able to manage his needs.

However, this all changed when Andy came along. Andy was very enthusiastic to meet and get to know Taz. As soon as they met at a Meet&Match visit, they fell in love! Taz was fantastic with Andy and we immediately knew they were going to build a very special bond.

Now happy in his forever home Taz is loving his life with his best friend Andy. Andy says: “I love Taz because he loves a cuddle first thing in a morning before anything else! When we are not having a cuddle we’re out enjoying each other’s company and going for walks – he is a really good boy with his muzzle and we always have lots of fun! I am so very happy to have him in my life; we make a great pair.”
