When Phoebe came into our care it was discovered quite quickly that she had some bad allergies and inflamed ears that were causing her discomfort.  She hadn’t had much socialisation so far in her short life and therefore found other dogs quite worrying.

It also became clear that Phoebe was a little nervous of meeting new people, though once she had made a bond, she was the snuggliest little pal you could wish for! During her time with us, the team worked hard with her on her dog reactivity and confidence building in general by working on desensitisation and counter conditioning around other dogs. She was such a clever girl and came on leaps and bounds, and even made a doggy friend while at the centre, which was such a special moment for Phoebe!

The team here saw straight away she was a very affectionate pooch and gave plenty of loving licks. She was also very playful and loved playing with her toys! The team said how she had a way of brightening your day by just spending time with her, and had such a sweet nature.

Phoebe is now doing really well in her forever home and has settled in superbly well with her new mummy, Amanda.

She is helping a lot out in her new garden and has certainly developed green paws! Her mummy digs and plants and Phoebe digs and unplants! When she’s not hard at work in the garden, she loves going for walks in the quiet field at the bottom of her road and relaxing on the back of the sofa cuddling Amanda who has to make sure the TV is on loud as Phoebe is a snorer!

Amanda has said “She really is a joy to have around and she has made my life so much better. I don’t think I would have got through my Covid Isolation without her”

We want to be there for all the dogs like Phoebe that need our help for many more years to come. If you could help us to do this, we, and all of our Jerry Green dogs, would be so grateful. You can simply TEXT JERRY to 70201 to donate £1 towards our vital work, or perhaps consider sponsoring a kennel at your local centre for just £1 per week. Thank you.
