This Christmas we’re asking you for your support so we can continue to change the lives of the rescue dogs we have in our care as we look for loving homes for each of them.

Andrea Beer, Head of Income Generation here at Jerry Green Dog Rescue says: “As a charity which receives no government support, donations are what keep us afloat and able to do what we do. For our 2019 Christmas campaign we have decided to encourage donations that will go towards our food and vet bills as year on year these costs are one of our biggest outlays.

“We’re also challenged by the fact that dogs are now staying in our care for longer, increasing our costs further. In 2017 an average stay for a Jerry Green dog in kennels was 28 days, yet in 2018 the average length of stay is 32 days. This is due to the types of dogs that are coming into our care, we’re finding we have more dogs who need that extra bit of support with their training or have medical difficulties which need to be addressed before they can be rehomed.”

Our video this year focuses on a story that applies to many of our dogs and was filmed at our East Yorkshire Centre. It follows the journey of a dog who finds himself without a home due to the changing circumstances of his owner and through no fault of his own. We ensure that every dog that comes in to our care receives support but we couldn’t do this without your kind donations so thank you from everyone at Jerry Green Dog Rescue.
