At our North Lincolnshire centre we are currently at the exciting stage of developing a sensory garden in memory of Founder Trustee Peggy Dornom. When Jerry Green first opened his inaugural animal sanctuary at our Broughton site in 1961, the space was designed to be an area of rest and remembrance for dogs who had passed away. The garden will be a place open to the community, where people can visit to remember their lost pets, to meet their new ones through our pioneering Meet&Match® process, or to simply enjoy time in a beautiful sensory environment.

We are always looking to improve our facilities across our centres, and have long wanted to develop a Sensory Garden at our North Lincolnshire site, to enrich the lives of both the local community and our own Jerry Green dogs. The project is now finally ready to go ahead, thanks to a grant gratefully received from Tesco – Bags of Help, and the extremely generous offer of several local businesses who are donating their time, expertise and resources to help bring the garden to life.

Leading this project is local dog lover and businessman Adam Booty, who is using his years of landscaping experience, to help this dream become a reality. Adam, of A.P.B Gardens is creating a natural haven for local wildlife whilst maintaining an accessible garden for everyone to enjoy.

A huge thank you to the following businesses:
