Locals supporting locals! Craft Union pub, The Black Bull in Brigg, has kindly donated £500 to us after one of their regulars won their “Why do you love your local?” competition. Andrew Noon, the pubs landlord said: “Craft Union ran a “Why do you love your local?” competition where the winner could choose a charity of their choice to receive a £500 donation. Graham Bowness, a regular in the pub submitted an entry for our pub and was lucky enough to win. He said he loved his local because it was where his wife couldn’t find him! “We’d like to say thank you to Graham for nominating us, and to Ralph and charity ‘Ambassadog’ Rookie for their support.” Ralph and Rookie are also regulars in the pub and are dedicated supporters of the dog rescue charity. Ralph has volunteered for Jerry Green’s for over 40 years and suggested us to Graham when it came time to pick. Andrew continued: “Donating to Jerry Green Dog Rescue seemed like the right thing to do as supporting our local community and our own locals is what Craft Union pubs are all about. We’re really proud to donate to this worthy cause.” Alex Drewett, our North Lincolnshire & East Yorkshire Community Fundraiser said: “It’s fantastic when local businesses support us as we rely solely on donations and the generosity of the public to run our centres and care for our rescue dogs. Thank you to Andrew, Graham, Ralph, Rookie and to the rest of The Black Bull pub team for their support.” Find out how you can support us here.
