To play a key role in the Jerry Green Dog Rescue Fundraising team, you will implement the Individual Giving strategy, supported by the Senior Individual Giving Fundraiser and the Fundraising Manager. This will include donor acquisition, retention and management,
excellent communication and data management. As part of a team driven to increase revenue, you will be committed and enthusiastic about developing and implementing new and innovative ways to build upon individual donations. Increasing the profitability, social media presence and public awareness of Individual Giving, particularly Regular Giving, Sponsorship and In Memory giving, and ensuring excellent donor stewardship. Main Purpose of the Job:  

To play a key role in the Jerry Green Dog Rescue Fundraising team, you will implement the

Key Tasks and Responsibilities  

Fundraising 

  • Champion JGDR’s Regular Giving programme, namely the Sponsor a Kennel initiative, driving uptake, securing new donors and providing an exemplary donor journey to ensure retention. You will actively seek new sign ups through a variety of channels including but not limited to, face to face, via the telephone and online.
  • You will be a proactive individual, able to spot opportunities to generate support, and adapt your communication style to suit a variety of situations.
  • To be a confident and sensitive communicator, supporting donors and building long lasting relationships to benefit Jerry Green Dog Rescue.
  • Work alongside colleagues in the Fundraising and Marketing teams to deliver multifaceted campaigns to generate income across various income streams, regularly collaborating with the online, education and community arms of the fundraising department.
  • Implement plans to encourage donors to increase the value of their donations, give more regularly, and increase contributions by signing up to Gift Aid.
  • Facilitate personal development by keeping up to date with new legislation and best practise concerning financial practise, fundraising regulations, GDPR and Gift Aid.
  • Deliver an exemplary donor journey for occasion giving such as from weddings and birthdays.
  • To collaborate on and deliver a programme of exceptional donor care to engage and retain supporters, alongside the Fundraising Manager and colleagues.
  • Build a solid understanding of our donors using data and research to build insight, define different segments and tailor communications accordingly.
  • Provide a sensitive and efficient donor journey for ‘In Memory’ donors, being compassionate and supportive in processing these donations, and building relationships with these supporters.
  • Represent JGDR at public events and ensure all fundraising activities operate within best practice and regulatory guidelines and comply with health & safety requirements.

Administration 

  • To work at all times in a way that reflects the values and core principles of Jerry Green Dog Rescue
  • To keep informed of best practice in fundraising and of key developments in charity income streams.
  • To ensure GDPR compliance.
  • To work within the guidelines and codes of practice of the Fundraising Regulator and the Institute of Fundraising.
  • Take responsibility for the creation and administration of correspondence and communications with regular donors
  • To support the fundraising team with any administration duties as required.
  • To take a collaborative approach to working across all areas of fundraising in Jerry Green Dog Rescue.
  • To provide the Senior Individual Giving Fundraiser with regular updates and written progress reports.
  • To aid the Organisation as needed

  • Experience of individual giving processes

•            Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience 

•      Member of Fundraising or Marketing Professional body

•        A proven track record of achievement against targets/budget. 

•        Direct experience of preparing high quality written work in a professional environment. 

•        Excellent writing skills, particularly persuasive writing, and excellent grammar and punctuation. 

•        Excellent planning and organising skills, including the ability to manage and/or support several activities simultaneously. 

•        Excellent Information technology skills. 

•        Demonstrable understanding/appreciation of donors and the donor journey.
