Aged 10 and 12 years old Rosie and Woody didn’t expect to find themselves in rescue...

Being used to a working life and sleeping in a stable meant they were good and ready for a comfy, warm retirement home. Whilst in our care Rosie and Woody definitely enjoyed their home comforts; after a long walk in the woods or a chasing balls in the paddock they’d settle down on the sofa with our volunteers in the cosy home room, having snuggles and resting their paws.

They became a firm favourite of everyone they met, nobody could believe the energy in these golden oldies! Rosie and Woody were adopted by a lovely couple and have been enjoying home life to the full. Their favourite hobby is pinching their owner’s toy dinosaur collection, one by one making them their own and carrying around their favourite dinosaur of the day, showing it off to everyone they meet!

After a wonderful year together, Rosie sadly passed away on New Years Eve in 2019. Her amazing owners put together this video to share with you all what a magical year it was and how wonderful it is to adopt an older dog.

We want to be there for more dogs like Rosie and Woody who need our help for many more years to come. If you could help us to do this, we, and all of our Jerry Green dogs, would be so grateful. You can simply TEXT JERRY to 70201 to donate £1 towards our vital work, or perhaps consider sponsoring a kennel at your local centre for just £1 per week. Thank you
