Volunteer Dog Welfare Support Why we need you? To assist us in caring for and enriching the day to day lives of the dogs in our care. What skills and attributes do I need? Ideally you will be studying towards an animal welfare qualification. You will enjoy talking to people and building rapport. You must be honest and reliable. Have the ability to get along with people and work as part of a team. Possess a friendly and helpful manner. Be empathetic and non-judgemental when dealing with customers who have come to hand their dogs into rescue, or are enquiring about doing so. You must be able to maintain confidentiality. A commitment to our core principles and procedures. You will need to be fit and active as there is a lot of lifting and bending and some of our dogs are very strong. Some of our sites are not on a public transport network, so you may need to have your own transport. Please check with your local centre if this could be an issue for you. How much time do I need to commit? Ideally you would need to commit to at least 2 days per week. What support will I be given? You will go through a full induction to the role. You will go through a risk assessment to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. We will provide you with continuous support and guidance. What benefits can I expect?
