Why we need you?              

To assist us in caring for and enriching the day to day lives of the dogs in our care.

What skills and attributes do I need?

  • Ideally you will be studying towards an animal welfare qualification.
  • You will enjoy talking to people and building rapport.
  • You must be honest and reliable.
  • Have the ability to get along with people and work as part of a team.
  • Possess a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Be empathetic and non-judgemental when dealing with customers who have come to hand their dogs into rescue, or are enquiring about doing so.
  • You must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • A commitment to our core principles and procedures.
  • You will need to be fit and active as there is a lot of lifting and bending and some of our dogs are very strong.
  • Some of our sites are not on a public transport network, so you may need to have your own transport. Please check with your local centre if this could be an issue for you.

How much time do I need to commit?

Ideally you would need to commit to at least 2 days per week.

What support will I be given?

  • You will go through a full induction to the role.
  • You will go through a risk assessment to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • We will provide you with continuous support and guidance.
