Main Purpose of the Job:

To facilitate fundraising and raise awareness using a variety of online and digital platforms. To achieve regular and singular donations in line with the overall fundraising strategy and to meet budgetary goals. You will be responsible for developing and publishing content for the charity and for promoting the mission and values of the charity. As Digital Fundraiser you will take a leading role in digital communications, creating one voice in line with the Fundraising and communication plan and Digital Strategy.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Work as directed by the Fundraising Manager
  • In accordance with Jerry Green Dog Rescue procedures, develop and publish varied and engaging online content, taking a lead role, alongside the marketing department, in facilitating the organisation’s website and ecommerce platform.
  • Develop a calendar of campaigns to facilitate both fundraising and awareness, that encourage both engagement and donations from our social media following.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and education arms of Jerry Green Dog Rescue, to create multi-purpose content. Represent the interests of the Fundraising department during these collaborations with creative and innovative methods to drive income.
  • Develop and grow already successful JGDR online fundraising endeavours, alongside creating new ones and identifying new opportunities.
  • To lead on all online fundraising for JGDR, including but not limited to Facebook, Text 2 Donate, Just Giving, our own website and Instagram.
  • Develop and manage Facebook groups to further nurture relationships with supporters and provide valuable content, communicating JGDR’s wide range of knowledge and expertise.
  • Assist the fundraising team with online promotion of events, seminars and wider community engagement. Look for opportunities to run online campaigns alongside community or educational campaigns your colleagues may be launching.
  • Communicate regularly with the centres to ensure that the information displayed on our platforms is relevant and current. You will work alongside the Operations teams to regularly identify opportunities within the centres for monetary online appeals, which you will then develop, facilitate online and manage.
  • Take a responsive approach to fundraising, keeping up with the needs of the team and the centres, taking advantage of online trends and using any and all opportunities to drive income generation and awareness.
  • Ensure the highest standards of customer care are delivered to all online visitors and contacts by presenting a professional and friendly approach in responses provided through our digital platforms as well as face to face and on the telephone as required.
  • To drive the online targets for JGDR’s sponsorship, DIY and regular giving initiatives, particularly 60 Miles in May, Sponsor a Kennel and Paw Pals, working alongside your colleagues to secure maximum sign ups and provide an exemplary donor journey.
  • To create diverse, creative and engaging content for JGDR’s social media channels, including but not limited to, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and develop a plan for increasing both our following and engagement across these platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records on JGDR’s donor database to include records of correspondence, relationships, financial and donation information as well as ensuring that all customer information is shared with Central Office.
  • Recruit, assist and support volunteers within the fundraising team.
  • Undertake personal CPD training as agreed with the Fundraising Manager and keep up to date with digital fundraising trends and opportunities.
  • Adhere to all policy and procedures and maintain appropriate behaviour in line with the core competencies framework.
  • Undertake all tasks that are required from you within your role and support the activities of the fundraising team as and when required.
  • Deliver personal objectives within the allocated timeframe and highlight barriers or potential delays in any projects to your line manager should any rise.
  • Ensure all Fundraising activities operate within best practise and regulatory guidelines and comply with Health and Safety requirements.

Administration

  • To work at all times in a way that reflects the values and core principles of Jerry Green Dog Rescue.
  • To keep informed of best practice in fundraising and of key developments in charity income streams.
  • To ensure GDPR compliance.
  • To work within the guidelines and codes of practice of the Fundraising Regulator and the Institute of Fundraising.
  • To work within the framework of local and national legislation on in online giving and digital fundraising.

To provide the Fundraising Manager with regular updates and written progress reports. To track income generation activity on all of JGDR’s online platforms and share this with the team, as well as using it to inform strategy alongside the Fundraising Manager.

•        Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience

•        Member of Fundraising or Marketing Professional body

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

•        Minimum 2 years relevant communications, sales, marketing and/or fundraising experience.

•        A proven track record of achievement against targets/budget.

•        Direct experience of preparing high quality written work in a professional environment.

•        Ability to create a diverse range of engaging content with multiple aims.

•        Excellent writing skills, particularly persuasive writing, and excellent grammar and punctuation.

•        Excellent planning and organising skills, including the ability to manage and/or support several activities simultaneously.

•        Experience of using a range of fundraising researching tools and techniques.

•        Excellent Information technology skills.

•        Demonstrable understanding/appreciation of donors and the donor journey.

•        A passion for social media and content creation.
