Main Purpose of the Job:

Jerry Green Dog Rescue is looking to recruit a Community Fundraising Assistant. The main purpose of the job is to ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and managed locally to deliver targets and increase income in line with Central Office and Regional plans and strategies. The role is so varied, you’ll never have a dull day.  If you’re organised, innovative and able to confidently handle all manner of situations, including lone working, then this could be a role for you!

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To contribute to and deliver against annual budgets, targets and plans working alongside the Community Activity Co-ordinator.
  • To give talks and presentations to local organisations i.e. schools, community groups, WI to increase awareness of and support Jerry Green Dog Rescue and to support the Centre Manager in building local relationships with community groups and local businesses, ensuring all supporters are well taken care of to encourage donor retention and repeat support.
  • To respond to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers etc (by phone, mail and in person) including responding to requests for information and material etc.
  • Support the Centre Manager/Community Activity Lead with the development of new recruitment strategies to maximise the number of supporters and volunteers taking part in community based events, education and awareness raising activities.
  • Recruit community fundraising volunteers and support them through regular contact, and ensuring they are supported in their role.
  • Supporting the Centre Manager to plan and implement the Centre Summer Show.
  • Take responsibility for the Centres’ attendance at local events to raise awareness of the charity, its enterprise activity and to generate income.
  • Contribute to newsletters, publications, PR, education and marketing objectives and provide regular content to Central Office for marketing and social media to increase our engagement with adopters, supporters and donors online.
  • Ensure accurate donor management data is entered on to the Raiser’s Edge database and help ensure efficient Centre administration processes are in place.
  • Contribute to business, marketing and communications plans to support existing and instigate new cost-effective events and community fundraising initiatives, new services and enterprise initiatives.
  • Make sure all the legal requirements for events and community fundraising are in place and adhere to Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice and Fundraising Regulator requirements.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required.
