Main Purpose of the Job:

We are seeking to recruit a goal-orientated individual with exceptional communication skills and a proven track record in fundraising or sales, tasked to raise funds and awareness within the three regions of East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

As part of a driven fundraising team, you will be responsible for identifying and actively seeking opportunities to increase revenue through promoting Jerry Green Dog Rescue’s current and new fundraising initiatives. Generating and retaining support by maintaining excellent donor stewardship.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To contribute to and deliver against annual budgets, targets and plans working alongside your colleagues and the Community Activity Lead.
  • To take a proactive and responsive approach to fundraising, keeping up with the needs of the team and centres, taking advantage of all opportunities to drive income generation and awareness.
  • To directly engage with corporates, groups, and individuals within the community. Representing JGDR as the first point of contact, promoting JGDR’s mission, vision, and values alongside fundraising and volunteer opportunities.
  • To work alongside the fundraising team to ensure the highest standards of donor stewardship are delivered to retain support.
  • To work alongside the Digital Fundraiser in nurturing online relationships with supporters and providing valuable content.
  • Maintain accurate records on JGDR’s donor database to include records of correspondence, relationships, financial and donation information.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities operate within best practice and regulatory guidelines and comply with health and safety requirements.
  • To compile weekly and monthly reporting data to inform your line manager of your outputs and results.
  • To undertake any identified training as required or proposed by your manager, and take a key role in your own personal development, bringing appropriate training to the attention of your manager.
  • To respond to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers etc (by phone, mail and in person) including responding to requests for information and material etc.
  • Support the Fundraising Manager/Community Activity Lead with the development of new recruitment strategies to maximise the number of supporters and volunteers taking part in community based events, education and awareness raising activities.
  • Take a key role in the planning, implementation and strategic growth of pillar JGDR events, such as Summer Shows.
  • Contribute to newsletters, publications, PR, education and marketing objectives and provide regular content to Central Office for marketing and social media to increase our engagement with adopters, supporters and donors online.
  • Contribute to business, marketing and communications plans to support existing and instigate new cost-effective events and community fundraising initiatives, new services and enterprise initiatives.
  • Make sure all the legal requirements for events and community fundraising are in place and adhere to Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice and Fundraising Regulator requirements.
  • To remain professional at all times showing emotional resilience and empathy.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required.
