Join the team and help to co-ordinate our collection tins placed in the local community. We know that with extra helping hands to collect and advertise our collection boxes we can raise even more money to support the vital work we do at Jerry Green Dog Rescue.

There are collection boxes in local businesses all around are areas. The Fundraising Team will provide you with a list of places with full collection boxes. Your role will be to visit each location, deliver a new box and collect the full one. You will not need to count the money in the full collection boxes - simply return them to the centre and they will be counted by our Finance Department.

Whatever time you can give would be very much appreciated.

What’s involved:

  • Collecting empty collection boxes from the centre
  • Delivering the empty collection boxes to the specified location and collecting full collection boxes
  • Returning the full collection boxes to the centre to be counted by our Finance Department
  • Recording and returning any boxes that could not be delivered
  • Occasionally delivering other fundraising materials e.g. buckets, raffle prizes etc
  • Representing the rescue in the local community
  • Accurately recording your mileage and planning your journeys in the most time and cost effective way. The cost of your fuel will be covered (at a rate of 45p per mile).

What we will offer you:

Volunteers are asked to make themselves familiar with the work of the rescue. The Community Fundraiser will help with this and all volunteers are invited to attend an initial induction day to find out more about our work.

A dedicated member of staff will guide and support you in your work plus you will receive supporting materials, a full induction to the rescue and specific training, where appropriate, to help you get the most from your role.

What we’d like from you: 

  • Be polite, friendly and have good communication skills
  • Have a full driving licence with use of own vehicle
  • Have good organisational and planning skills with a good knowledge of the local area
  • Use your own initiative and feel happy working on your own
  • To give the Community Fundraiser as much notice as possible if you aren’t able to volunteer on the day and time that you normally assist
