Why we need you?

Running a successful Jerry Green Dog Rescue store requires a great team of enthusiastic and passionate volunteers and you could be part of it! Our volunteers come from a diverse range of backgrounds and bring a wide variety of skills to the organisation. They come together to generate vital funds, that enables us to continue our work in finding forever homes for the dogs in our care.

What's involved?

  • Providing a friendly and approachable atmosphere where customers feel welcome and comfortable
  • Giving an excellent customer service experience, including advising and helping people as they shop. Operating the till and dealing with various types of payment and keeping an eye on the security of the shop
  • Taking receipt of stock donations from the public and thanking them for their generosity
  • Signing up new Gift Aid Donors (this raises an extra 25p per pound for Jerry Green Dog Rescue from the sale of donations and does not cost donors anything)
  • Preparing stock for sale by sorting, ensuring anything for sale is of store quality. Steaming and pricing items appropriately. Moving the prepared stock to the shop floor in readiness for sale
  • Creating attractive displays of clothing, shoes, bric-a-brac, books, new goods, or rearranging items to maximise the visual appeal of the shop and increase sales
  • Replenishing stock by making sure our rails and shelves are well-stocked, visually appealing and tidy
  • Merchandising throughout the store and administrative tasks such as stocktaking
  • Working as part of a team and making new friends
