At 9 years old Brandy should be snuggled up on a sofa enjoying the simpler things in life. Brandy is currently waiting for her forever home at our South Lincolnshire centre, but before her dream can become a reality she has many obstacles to overcome.

Facing a daunting surgery with no guarantees that a large mass can be removed from her back, Brandy’s only chance of a healthy future lies in the hands of an experienced veterinary team.

To add to what is an already risky procedure, Brandy has a Grade 4 heart murmur. With this in mind, blood tests and a full body x-ray have been carried out and it has been confirmed she is strong enough for the surgery.

Brandy faces so many challenges and we know that despite all of the veterinary staff’s hard work, the outcome could still be heart breaking. However, we cannot sit back and not give our beautiful Brandy the chance of a happy and healthy retirement.

We know you wouldn’t want us to give up on a dog just because of their age and we won’t.

We have a number of dogs like Brandy receiving urgent medical care this month and the cost of easing their pain and discomfort is adding up.

Without supporters like you we can’t continue helping dogs like Brandy, so if would like to donate and help us to give her a second chance, please donate what you can.

Thank you

UPDATE - 23 August 2019:

We're pleased to announce that because of your kind donations, we were able to give Brandy the operation she so desperately needed.

She has successfully had the whopping 1.8kg mass removed and is recovering well despite the intense procedure - she is eating the vets out of house and home!

We will continue to share updates with you on Brandy's long road to recovery but for now we are going to leave her to rest in the capable hands of the veterinary team. She will need lots of time and loving post op care to get her back on her feet, that will incur more costs, but we’re hopeful she will be ready for a forever home soon. If you can contribute towards her recovery costs we'd be really grateful.

Thank you all so much for your kind donations so far and for giving her a second chance 💚

UPDATE - 13 September 2019:

It looks like Brandy is going to get her happily forever after! She has been given the all clear by the vets this week following the surgery she had a few weeks ago to remove the large mass she had on her back end. A surgery that was able to happen due to your kind donations so thank you!

The vets were able to identify the mass as a soft tissue sarcoma, grade 1, which means it was unlikely to spread and it's also unlikely to grow back - which is the best news we could have hoped for.

Brandy is recovering well in her foster home with her best friend Marley. Marley and Brandy came into our South Lincolnshire centre as a pair and Marley has stayed right by his lifelong friends side through out her recovery - they really are the perfect pair.

Could you offer this lovely couple a forever home? They would like to live in a quiet home where they would be the only dogs but could potentially live with a cat. They can also live with children aged 14 and above. If you would like any more information about our lovely twosome contact our South Lincolnshire centre on 01205 260546 or email [email protected]. You can also read their profiles here.
