The mission of World Animal Day is to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe. Through increased awareness and education, we can create a world where animals are always recognised as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare. For more information please visit the World Animal Day website here

On this special day, we would like to invite you to join in with the thousands of 'do it yourself' fundraisers across the globe that will be hosting an event or taking on a challenge to raise funds for an animal charity close to their heart.

Income from 'do it yourself fundraising' is a lifeline for us here at Jerry Green Dog Recuse, and we couldn’t be more grateful for all our DIY fundraisers, every penny and pound really does mean so much to us!

Let’s make this our biggest fundraising day of the year!! #doitforthedogs

Here are some ideas to get you started with your 'World Animal Day' fundraiser.

Wear an item of green, or go all out and dress head to toe in green for one day!

You could do this as an individual, a workplace team, school, or a community or social group. Groups and teams can fundraise by making a donation on the day. If taking part as an individual, ask your friends and family to sponsor you!

You could even give your non-uniform day a theme; be seen in green, fancy dress as your favourite animal or make it all about dogs! We have a selection of resources specifically for schools within our downloadable pack, including an activity that could help you with your 'costume' should you wish to make it 'all about dogs'!

Are you a fitness or wellness instructor? You could host a class or session and donate the proceeds to our cause. If you are a keen participant of an activity or exercise class, why not speak to your instructor to see if they might be interested in getting involved!

How about taking on a challenge such as a sponsored walk or bike ride? You can set your goals and fundraise along the way!

In your resource pack you will find a worded gratitude to share with your class that we have created to give mindfulness and reflection to the core purpose of 'World Animal Day'.

Are you part of a dog walking community, in-person or online? Why not have a get together and walk for woofs? Set yourself a challenge as a group and ask friends and family to sponsor you.

Alternatively, come join in with our social walk 'Woofing Walkies' events here. Make friends, enjoy some cake, and get tips and advice on all things dog related with one of our experienced members of the Jerry Green Team.

Would you like to take on an extreme challenge? How about a sponsored skydive or abseil? Let us know what you would like to do and we can support you along the way. For more information, please visit our dedicated page, or contact the team on [email protected]
