Main Purpose of the Job: As part of the Jerry Green Dog Rescue (JGDR) Fundraising and Supporter Care team you will be responsible for the management of legacy administration objectives: donor management, acquisition and retention, communication and data management.

As the key lead administrator for the legacy programme, you will be able to work to a high standard of case management, be comfortable in dealing with internal and external stakeholders and provide effective and efficient working practices. You will need to be able to present written documentation to an exceptionally high standard including precise record keeping and time compliant reporting.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Legacy Administration

  1. To develop a Legacy-Marketing plan which demonstrates and measures activity to achieve required income targets with the Marketing and Digital Lead.
  2. To develop relationships with key supporters to nurture legacy pledges.
  3. To act as the key lead for the ‘Guardian Angel’ free Will service
  4. To keep accurate records of pledges and outstanding legacies.
  5. To develop strong links with local solicitors to both promote JGDR as a beneficiary and to help with initiatives such as Will Week.
  6. To keep abreast of relevant legislation relating to legacies.
  7. To work within targets, budgets and other KPI’s.
  8. To manage stewardship of the JGDR pledger process maintaining comprehensive records. – this may include travel to other JGDR sites.


  1. To work with the Marketing and Digital Lead and the Fundraising Manager to increase legacy campaigns.
  2. To work with the Marketing and Digital Lead to develop press releases, social media content and website posts to promote legacies and to generate funds.


  1. To work at all times in a way that reflects the values and core principles of JGDR.
  2. To keep informed of best practice in fundraising and of key developments in charity income streams.
  3. To ensure GDPR compliance in all areas of record keeping and working.
  4. To work within the guidelines and codes of practice of the Fundraising Regulator and the Institute of Fundraising.
  5. To work within the framework of local and national legislation on donation and legacy fundraising.
  6. To take responsibility for the administration of all correspondence and communications with legacy administrators and legal teams and to support the fundraising team with any administration duties as required
  7. To take a collaborative approach in working across all areas of fundraising in JGDR.
  8. To provide the Fundraising Manager and Finance Manager with regular updates and written progress reports.
  9. To uphold confidentiality of information at all times.


  1. Organise promotional activities for JGDR.
  2. Represent JGDR at public events, if deemed appropriate and with prior discussion with the line manager
  3. Support the Fundraising department through presentations, meetings and cheque presentations.
  4. Ensure all Fundraising activities operate within best practise and regulatory guidelines and comply with Health and Safety requirements.

Qualifications & experience


·         Experience of working to a high standard and able to evidence transferable skills




·         Member of Fundraising or Marketing Professional body

·         Professional qualifications (certificate/diploma)

·         Experience of using a range of fundraising researching tools and techniques


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


·         Minimum 2 years’ relevant administration experience

·         A proven track record of achievement of working within targets/budget

·         Direct experience of preparing high quality written work in a professional environment

·         Excellent planning and organising skills, including the ability to manage and/or support several activities simultaneously

·         Experience of using a range of fundraising researching tools and techniques

·         Excellent IT skills

·         Demonstrable understanding/appreciation of donors and the donor journey

Understanding of the importance of ensuring of good dog welfare

·         Passionate about continuous improvement of the welfare of dogs across the whole organisation and demonstrates vigilance in ensuring the depth and breadth of good dog welfare standards

·         Understands the spirit and intent Dogs in the office

·         Prepared to be trained as a Green Skills Dog handler
