A lasting legacy When Jerry Green set up the charity which bears his name in 1961, he wanted to revolutionise the quality of life for rescue dogs. He believed all dogs deserved a happy life and a safe, loving home. Jerry Green was a pioneer and wanted the good practices he'd established to influence other rescue centres, promoting the humane treatment of dogs everywhere. We still carry on his good practices and strive to be at the forefront of dog welfare. Thanks to our founder's legacy, we now run five rescue centres across three counties and have been transforming the lives of abandoned and unwanted dogs for over 50 years. Why a gift in your Will is so important to us As an animal welfare charity we receive no Government or National Lottery funding. Gifts in Wills support a quarter of all the dogs in our rescue centres. So many of them need a fresh start, be that emergency veterinary care, training or a place to finally feel safe. Without gifts in Wills, hundreds of unwanted dogs could still be looking for a home.
