To prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to follow social distancing guidelines, we paused our usual intake procedure and were only taking dogs into our care who were in a crisis situation with nowhere else to go. However, with government restrictions slowly lifting, we are now able to take intake requests as normal (whether it is an emergency situation or not).

We’re aware the virus has had, and will continue to have, a big impact on people’s personal health and financial situation. Its impact may put some dog owners in a position where they can no longer care for their dog(s). We know that rehoming your dog(s) is a truly heart-breaking decision and is usually a last resort – but we are here to help and support you through the process.

If you are thinking of giving up your dog, please contact your local Jerry Green Dog Rescue centre and talk to a member of our rehoming team.

Once in our care your dog will go through our 7-day assessment conducted by our experienced staff, so that we can make the best decisions for them, and we will use our Meet&Match® rehoming process to find your dog their new adopters.

You can contact us at any point during the process to check in with your dog’s rehoming progress. We promise to care for your dog and make the best decisions we can for their wellbeing, safety and happiness.
