It costs us, on average, more than £125,000 a year to provide veterinary care to our dogs, with 35% of this being on standard vet care alone. The figures are significant but show how your donations are vital in enabling us to continue doing what we do.

Standard vet care is the basic level of vet care we provide to every dog that comes into our rescue centres and costs on average £43,000 a year. This care includes:

  • Vaccinations
  • Neutering and associated costs
  • Microchipping
  • Medication
  • Health checks
  • Flea/worming treatments
  • Dental treatments
  • Consultations

This works out as each dog cared for by Jerry Green Dog Rescue in 2019 cost the charity on average, approximately £84 for the basic level of veterinary care. This amount does not include any surgeries and/or further treatment each dog needs, their food, toys, staff salaries or the basic necessities we provide like a warm kennel and a comfy dog bed.

From as little as £5 a month you can contribute towards the cost of providing standard vet care to one of our unfortunate dogs. £10 a month can contribute towards two dogs and £20 a month can go towards as many as four!

We appreciate that £5 may seem hard to give, but here are some examples of what £5 can buy: a fancy coffee, a chunky piece of cake, a cheap bottle of wine? I am sure you agree, changing a life is so much more rewarding.

However much you can give, big or small, it will go towards changing the lives of the rescue dogs we have in our care and will give them the second chance they deserve.

If you can help and sign up to a monthly donation you can do so by visiting our

If committing to a monthly gift is not something you can do right now, why not opt in so in the meantime you can hear all about the wonderful things we do at Jerry Green Dog Rescue or give a one off gift?

Thank you!
