Dear All,
We are so sad now that Winnie is no longer with us. It was the hardest decision I have ever had to make, but after the x-ray results showed why we were not getting good results from the analgesia, we knew there was nothing else we could do for her.
All of the staff at Cathcart and Winn in Farnham loved her too and were very supportive.
Over the year that we fostered her she became a member of our family and will be irreplaceable.
I have spoken to a lot of people that we met on our walks over the last year: Many were impressed that you looked after her for so long and enabled her to enjoy a happy life in her twilight years.
We plan to start fund raising in Winnie's memory so that you can continue to help dogs like her.
I am attaching the picture of Winnie on the walk before we went to the vet for the last time so that everyone who followed her progress can see that she was loved until the end.
Best wishes,
Claire
Note from the staff at Blidworth centre:
We would like to express our unlimited thanks to Claire and her family for giving Winnie the best last year of her life and getting her through her illness. She most certainly had an extended life due to being in a warm, loving home and for all the years Winnie was over looked whilst in our care, having Claire and her family for one year meant everything to us and of course Winnie herself!
Rest in Peace sweetheart, you will be dearly missed.
