One of the problems of keeping dogs in kennels is that the noise and confined space can often lead to Kennel Stress and the presence of members of the public only makes the situation worse, when many dogs display behaviour patterns that may be totally opposite their true character.
Five of Jerry Green Dog Rescue’s centres have changed the way in which they match dogs and new owners. To try to improve life for the dogs in our care, we have restricted access to our kennels at our centres at Northants, East and North Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Suffolk. At the same time, we have worked very hard to improve the way in which we match our dogs with new owners. We discuss owners’ requirements and experience very carefully to seek the ideal match before introducing suitable dogs in a low-stress environment, away from the actual kennels.
In the 12 months since this programme started, we have seen a real reduction in the stressed behaviour displayed by our dogs, as well as improved standards of rehoming, all in all a great result. So, if you visit one of these centres, please allow yourself time to talk with our staff; selecting your new pet is as important to us as it is to you and we want to get it right.

Both the Dog Listings and News section have active news feeds.
What are news feeds?
News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and video in one place, as soon as its published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from. Most browsers display the orange button shown above when a news feed is present.
How do I start using feeds?
In general, the first thing you need is something called a news reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications.
